At Mariners Cottage we operate on a very flexible booking basis. Changeover day is Saturday on a weekly basis but we may be able to offer short breaks of either 4 or 3 night durations.....Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights....or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights during out of season periods.

Short breaks are charged at 75% of the weekly rate, but are only available out of season or at very short notice. Worth asking.

Please note that you are required to take your own bed linen towels & T towels.

2023 Weekly Rates

How do we keep out prices so low in comparison to other cottages in the area?

Prices are significantly lower than most comparable holiday cottages in the area due to the fact that we do not use booking agencies who typically take a commision of 20% plus vat. We do however use Airbnb. So owners normally add this cost to their weekly rates hence their higher prices.

We also keep our charges down as low as possible and much lower than many other cottages in the area by asking our guests to bring their own bed linen, towels and T towels. (Duvets and pillows are provided).

We also keep our prices low by asking guests to leave the cottage as clean and tidy as they find it on their arrival. We do have a cleaner for the cottage but we do like you to leave it as clean as possible after your stay which helps us keep cleaning cost down.

Prices - Charges are fully inclusive of electricity, gas, water and cleaning of the cottage after your stay. We do however expect guests to leave the property tidy on departure.  Don't forget that you need to provide your own linen.

A 20% non refundable deposit is required to reserve your booking. If you cancel we can only refund this amount if we can re book the cottage for the duration of your stay. A separate £150 security deposit is required with your final payment, which is payable 6 weeks prior to your holiday starting. This security deposit is to cover the cost of any breakages, damage caused during your stay, plus the cost of any chargable phone calls made from the phone in the cottage. Assuming all is ok after your stay this security deposit is refunded to you

Car Parking at Mariners

We have a season ticket for the private car park on the quay or on the grass opposite Mariners Cottage.

So when you arrive (1st April to 30th Sept) please advise the car park attendant that you are staying at Mariners Cottage and you will receive free parking for the week.  You do not need to put a permit card in your car windscreen.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR ONE CAR ONLY AND YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARK A TRAILER IN THE CAR PARK.

Additional cars can purchase a weekly pass from the car park attendant at a reduced rate compared to the daily rate.

Dogs staying at Mariners

We are pet friendly at Mariners but due to increased cleaning costs and a number of previous guests not cleaning up after their dogs...we have no choice but to charge an additional amount for dogs staying at Mariners.

We charge an additional £40 per week for one dog and £60 per week if you wish to bring two dogs. Please indicate on your booking form that you are intending to bring a dog/dogs with you. Please note that we only allow a maximum of 2 dogs. Also please note that we don't allow dogs to be left unattended in the cottage at any time.

Check in day and time

Check in day is Sat after 4.00pm with departure on Sat by 10.30am.
 Please stick to these times to allow for any cleaning that is required.
